Wintersun - Faiths of Skyrim is a mod for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition that turns the worship of gods into an active part of gameplay while expanding the pantheon of deities you can choose to follow.
Faith and religion are already a large part of The Elder Scrolls lore and present in Skyrim Special Edition in the shape of both Daedric Shrines and the struggle of worshipping the banned deity Talos, but that might not be immersive enough for some players, which is where the Wintersun - Faiths of Skyrim mod comes in.
With the mod installed, you get to pick a deity to follow – based on your race – as soon as you hit level 2. You can also pick a different god by interacting with their shrines or, in the case of the Daedra, being tempted into their service after learning about their deeds.
Skyrim Special Edition Wintersun - Faiths of Skyrim Mod
Although some deities will only be accessible to certain races or upon completing a quest, the Wintersun - Faiths of Skyrim mod greatly expands the pool of choices so no matter what type of character you’re playing in Skyrim Special Edition, you’ll find a deity to follow.
Interacting with a deity’s shrine turns you into a follower of that deity while granting a lesser version of their gift, the Pray power, as well as a list of tenets specific to that god.
From that point on, you need to maintain Favor with your god by praying each day, following its tenets or discovering holy relics.
Reaching 100 Favor bestows a greater version of that god’s gift. Letting Favor drop to 0 will result in the god abandoning you.
The Wintersun - Faiths of Skyrim Mod only allows players to follow one deity at any given time. Given the sheer number of available gods and powers, you’ll likely want to put some thought into your choice.
You can learn more about the available deities and grab the mod from Nexus Mods.
