Publisher Slitherine and developer CreativeForge Games today unveiled Ancient Arenas: Chariots as their newest project. The Roman chariot racing simulator was arguably the biggest surprise coming out of the Home of Wargamers 2022 event, acting as a spiritual successor to 2014’s Qvadriga.
Ancient Arenas: Chariots blends management and racing elements, tasking players with overseeing their mansion before they take to the race track. Upgrades enable you to build, trade, research, explore, and train more efficiently while also allowing you to request divine favors from the gods.
Horses are instrumental in your pursuit of glory and you’ll have to train both them and your Auriga to make sure that they’re in shape and eager to work together. In addition, you can also customize your chariots and improve them to perform better.
Ancient Arenas: Chariots lets you pick the faction that best suits your playstyle, whether that be a horse master, expert craftsman, trainer of Aurigas.
Then, there are the actual races, which test your skills across dozens of tracks found in different regions of the Roman Empire.
Ancient Arenas: Chariots is also confirmed to feature multiplayer support, so you’ll be able to test your charioteers against those of players around the world. There’s no word on when the game might launch but you can check out its teaser trailer below.
