It's been two years since the release of Sniper Elite 4, the fantastic 4th title in Rebellion's beloved shooter series, so we're due for a new game in the series. Rebellion agrees, as the studio has revealed that Sniper Elite 5 is in production, along with several other Sniper Elite games.
One of these games, Sniper Elite V2 Remastered, was already revealed earlier this week, and is a complete remaster of the second Sniper Elite game from 2012. Sniper Elite 3 is coming to Switch in an Ultimate Edition, and there'll be another new game bound for VR too.
Sniper Elite 5 is in production at Rebellion, and is merely described as "following in the footsteps of the widely acclaimed Sniper Elite 4" and "being worked on now", with more details to come in 2020 - hopefully it'll be released then, too.
Sniper Elite V2 Remastered, on the other hand, will launch this year. It'll feature "stunningly enhanced graphics, 4K resolution and HDR display", along with new playable characters, a photo mode, expanded online multiplayer for up to 16 players, and all DLC released for the game.
Sniper Elite VR, or whatever it'll be called, is described as a standalone title, so not a VR version of a previous game. Rebellion are being assisted in its development by Just Add Water, another British studio, best known for their work on the Oddworld and Gravity Crash series.
Rebellion's most recent game was the whimsical co-op adventure Strange Brigade, which was sort-of a spin-off from Sniper Elite. You can check out the full development update video below. As for Sniper Elite 5, we'll have more on it when we hear of it.
