Sniper Elite 5’s release date is slated to arrive more than sixteen years after Rebellion’s stealth-focused third-person shooter series debuted. Karl Fairburne’s efforts to combat the Nazi threat take him to France this time around, the entry promising a number of improvements alongside a new take on PvP.
The developer initially teased a Sniper Elite 5 release date reveal during The Game Awards 2021 prior to finally unveiling the title in early December, during ID@Xbox Gathering Showcase.

The latest entry in the series takes players to France, as the Allies prepare the Normandy Invasion. Initially attached to a covert US Ranger operation whose goal was to weaken Nazi fortifications around Brittany, Karl Fairburne ends up stranded inland, working with the French Resistance to stop Operation Kraken by taking out key Nazi officers.
Sniper Elite 5’s campaign takes players through multiple real-world locations. Its missions can be played either in single-player, for those seeking a lone wolf experience, or in co-op, alongside a friend.
Interestingly enough, the title will also allow you to invade other players’ campaigns, taking the role of a Nazi sniper. Karl can also call upon a second sniper to aid him against this newfound threat and the soldiers already spread across the area.
Other features like gun customization, improved traversal and killcam, and more are also confirmed for launch. With its release date covered, you can check out Sniper Elite 5’s Steam page for more details.
In addition, the game will also be available on PC Game Pass at launch.
