UPDATE April 29: SnowRunner Steam release date announced.
SnowRunner has been around fo a while now, trading driving on slick asphalt roads for snow, mud and other types of rough terrain. On PC, the title was initially available as an Epic Games Store exclusive, which left a portion of fans hoping for a Steam release disappointed.
Modders and mod enthusiasts would likely have also wished for the title to be available on Valve’s storefront at launch, given how easy Workshop support makes customizing the experience. Here’s what we know about SnowRunner’s Steam release.
SnowRunner Steam Release
Publisher Focus Home Interactive and developer Saber Interactive kept things under wraps for a good while, remaining focused on the title’s presence on the Epic Games Store. But, a bit over one year after its original launch, the game is finally making its way to Valve’s storefront.
SnowRunner’s Steam release has been locked down to May 18, which is when the base game and all its post-launch DLC will shed their Epic Games Store exclusivity. You can already follow and wishlist it on its dedicated page. There’s no mention of Steam Workshop support, at least at the moment, but the title already has a fairly large collection of mods from which you can choose.
We’re now wondering whether Saber Interactive’s World War Z, which didn’t launch on Steam one year later, might also come to Steam in the near future. Time will tell, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
SnowRunner is out now on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
