When does Space Marine 2 Season 2 start? We loved Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, and it’s safe to say Saber Interactive has a big hit on its hands following widespread acclaim from both critics and longtime WH40K fans. Now, it’s all about keeping that momentum going with solid post-launch support, and players are wondering when season 2 is coming.

UPDATED: We updated this page on the 17th October to reveal that Season 2 content is going live today with a new Patch now available for Space Marine 2.
Space Marine 2 Season 2 Release Date
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2’s current post-launch roadmap gave us a pretty good look at what to expect from the excellent third-person shooter game past its first season, which started with the game’s launch on September 9, 2024. More PvE missions, guns, PvP arenas/modes, and enemies, among other things, are coming our way. But when is season 2 dropping and what does it exactly include for both players who only own the base game and those who have paid for the season pass?
- Space Marine 2 season 2 went live on the 17th October, 2024.
Players should expect the main season 1 update, focused on fixing bugs and polishing things up, to drop before the end of September. It will include proper ultrawide monitor support, private PvE lobbies, and access to the battle barge’s sparring arena. Season 2’s arrival should happen at some point during 2024’s last trimester, between October and November. We now know that Season 2 launched on the 17th of October.

Space Marine 2 Season 2 Content
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2’s post-launch plans beyond its first season, which is more of a warmup, are rather meaty, actually, and following the breakout hit of Saber’s game, chances are those plans might get juiced up. In fact, ideas for story DLC and even a third game are already being thrown around, but let’s focus on this one for now.
Season 2 marks the start of content drops coming to the game’s multiplayer modes and aiming to round out the package at no additional cost. Owners of the season pass will get access to extra customization options, such as paint jobs, new armor pieces, and gun skins. This is the full rundown of everything we know is coming with season 2:
- New PvE missions (Termination).
- Lethal difficulty level, in case you weren’t having a hard enough time already.
- Neo-Volkite pistol to bump up the thin selection of secondary weapons.
- The massive Tyranid enemy called Hierophant Bio-Titan
- For season pass owners: Dark Angels-themed champion, cosmetic, and weapon skin packs. These, much like the already-released Ultramarines Cosmetic Pack, don’t affect gameplay.
A new map for the Operations mode, set on Planet Kadaku, is also scheduled for release later this month in October. The update will be free for all players and should be released soon.
Here’s a sneak peak:
The Tyranid invasion of Kadaku is ending. The planet’s organic material is being transformed into biomass, and Tyranid Capillary Towers stretch high into the skies above, where the Hive Ships wait to taste their victory. The Cadian forces have made a valiant attempt to push back against the Tyranids. A team of Space Marines arrives on Kadaku with a simple mission: help the Cadians destroy the towers. The Tyranids may win the planet, but the Imperium will make it as painful as possible for them.
Stay tuned for more updates as they come. With season 1’s main update right around the corner and hype around the game heating up, Saber Interactive might have some aces up its sleeve, and we can’t wait to see how an already fantastic action game grows into something much larger over the next year (and hopefully beyond that).
