Publisher Scopely and developer Digit have announced that mobile 4X strategy game Star Trek Fleet Command will be the first from their roster that makes the jump to PC.
Released on mobile in November 2018, Star Trek Fleet Command initially focused on the Kelvin Timeline before adopting content from The Next Generation and The Original Series’ arcs.
Star Trek Fleet Command’s PC launch comes with cross-progression support, enabling players to use the fleets they’ve spent time building up on mobile upon switching platforms. Support also extends to Alliances and Battlepasses, as part of the publisher’s effort to target a bigger audience.
“I think the idea of mobile players, PC players, and console players is outdated,” Scopely co-CEO Javier Ferreira told VentureBeat. “Our data now shows that over 65% of players are really going to be engaging with games across multiple platforms. Our strategy is to be player-first, rather than focusing on a particular platform.”
Available as a direct download from its official website, Star Trek Fleet Command’s PC version is listed as “coming soon.” Players who give the game a spin on PC will receive a cross-platform resource bundle, cosmetic avatars and frames, as well as discounts for in-game resources.
