Publisher Slitherine today announced that it will publish Stargate: Timekeepers, an upcoming strategy game based on popular sci-fi series Stargate SG-1 and developed by Polish studio Creative Forge Games.
Stargate: Timekeepers breaks away from the main plot, telling its own story set after the end of season 7 that takes place during the Battle of Antarctica. Its events follow Commander Eva McCain and her team as they “are tasked with supporting the SG-1 against Anubis’s fleet.”
Stargate: Timekeepers will feature “multiple original locations” and see players traveling “through time and space, save civilians from the threats of their system lords, rescue their friends and allies from danger, and much more.”
“Working on an IP like Stargate is an honor and a testament to our continued effort to reach a wider audience,” said Slitherine Marketing Director Marco Minoli.
“We strive to capture players’ imagination by creating our own worlds or by forging experiences based on existing, influential franchises. We look forward to bringing Stargate: Timekeepers to life and creating a long-lasting legacy of Stargate strategy games”.
This is the biggest surprise to come out of Slitherine’s Home of Wargamers 2021 Live+ event and yet another major sci-fi IP that the publisher adds to its portfolio, after Battlestar Galactica and Starship Troopers.
Stargate: Timekeepers doesn’t yet have a release date but is slated to launch on PC. During the Home of Wargamers 2021 Live+ event, Slitherine also revealed a Master of Magic reboot, Scramble: Battle of Britain, and Broken Arrow.
