Publisher Paradox Interactive today confirmed that Stellaris Season 8 will be taken off sale tomorrow, January 9, 2025, at “around 3 PM CET,” giving anyone who has yet to purchase it less than 24 hours to do so.
The package provides a way to grab all the content released for the sci-fi grand strategy game throughout 2024 alongside the bonus Rick the Cube portrait at a 20% discount. To sweeten the deal, it was turned into a Steam Dynamic Bundle back in December, meaning that we no longer have to pay for DLC we might have already acquired separately.
Stellaris Season 8 Taken Off Sale
After Stellaris Season 8 is taken off sale, its three DLCs – The Machine Age, Cosmic Storms, and the Grand Archive Story Pack – will still be purchasable individually or as part of the Ultimate Bundle, which includes the bonus portrait mentioned above alongside all the DLC released for the sci-fi grand strategy game since its 2016 launch.
The publisher also confirmed that a new season of Stellaris content is on the way with “news [..] just right around the corner.”
Developer diaries are also returning “in the next week or two,” gradually shedding light on how the title will evolve throughout the year.
Unless the team changes its approach, Season 9 will likely contain a major expansion similar in scope to The Machine Age alongside two smaller pieces of DLC that add more flavor to the game’s sprawling universes.
Stellaris Season 8 was generally well-received, with The Machine Age being hailed as one of the game’s best expansions, especially if you fancy doing away with the limitations imposed by flesh.
It will be interesting to see where the grand strategy game, whose tenth anniversary is slowly creeping up on us, will go next. Luckily, we shouldn’t have to wait too long before finding out.
