Frontier Developments has revealed Struggling as the first game to be published under its Frontier Foundry publishing arm.
Developed by Chasing Rats Games, Struggling is a physics-based co-op platformer in which you control the arms of a misshapen creature called Troy, who’s recently escaped from the lab in which it was created.
As you struggle to navigate the game’s diverse 2D environments, you’ll be able to individually manipulate his two limbs on your own, in singleplayer, or by sharing the burden with a friend in co-op.

Momentum and inertia play a large role in solving Struggling’s puzzles. While making your way through the many obstacles you’re bound to encounter is tricky enough, you’ll also have to watch out for hungry rats and passenger jets looking to stop you from completing your pilgrimage towards unlocking your true potential.
On your way, you’ll also obtain new powers that help get Troy closer to his goal. These include being able to dislodge and remotely control his arms to activate far-away switches, or slow time to dodge incoming hazards.
Struggling’s launch trailer reveals a colorful, cartoonish art style complementing its potential for impromptu comedy.
Players will have to make their way through “four visually unique worlds, including horrific labs, perilous canyons, and even feverish hyper-dreams”. There’s even a unicorn farting rainbows at one point.
Struggling’s release date is locked down to today, coinciding with Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event. If you’re reading this, then you can already dip into its delightfully disgusting action on PC or Switch.
