Publisher Team17 and solo developer Ernestas Norvaišas today announced the release of Swift Expedition, the third major update for railway-focused city builder Sweet Transit.
The update’s headline feature introduces jet trains, giving us a fast transport alternative that can move large amounts of passengers and cargo between different locations.

In addition, we can now build steam trains that can move backwards, a diesel locomotive that enables quicker passenger transfer, as well as a tier 3 diesel locomotive with generally improved stats.
Sweet Transit’s Swift Expedition major update also brings with it various quality-of-life improvements. For starters, it fully overhauls the user interface, improving both readability and accessibility.
We can now have double the number of trains in operation, while settlements can obtain a natural attractiveness, provided citizens live near “mountains, trees, large bodies of water, and hedges and statues which can be placed around residences. “
The Sweet Transit update also adds more natural map generation and visible resource deposits. Residents now consume goods by population count, which naturally grows as settlements expand.
When stopping in settlements, trains now depart once the needed amount of people board, rather than attempting to fill their wagons each time.
You can get a better sense of all the changes in the video below and keep track of Sweet Transit as its stay in early access continues by visiting its Steam page.
