System Shock Remastered’s February Kickstarter Update is now live, giving players a look at new assets from the upcoming immersive sim.
The February’s Kickstarter Update, starts off by showing System Shock Remastered’s barrels, whose models (pictured above) let players know at a glance that it’s probably best to not spend too much time in their vicinity.

System Shock Remastered February Kickstarter Update then continues by showing off some more of the title’s concept art, including some for the X-22 lead briefcase, a mutant suspended in liquid and a science lab test pod.
“The topic of concept art is buzzing a lot in the comment section, so let us explain. Yes, concept art is often a big part of the early stages of development, however, concept art is something constantly being created. Concept art can help sort out design, establish a mood, assist modelers with functionality as well as perspective.”, the update reads.
The February Kickstarter Update closes with giving us a look at proxy models for the Cyber Mantis, a strange Plant Mutant species, the Execbot and the Gorilla-Tiger.
“Proxies are autogenerated topology created from near-finished hi-poly models. Though rough and untextured, proxies represent the overall shape of the character well enough so that they can be handed off to our rigging and animation team; that way they don’t have to wait for the time-consuming low-poly, UV, and texture phases before they can get started.”
The System Shock remaster is making “great progress”, according to developer Nightdive Studios, and is currently aiming for a 2020 release.
