Forged of Blood, the tactical turn-based fantasy RPG from developer Critical Forge, has received a new gameplay trailer ahead of its August release date.
Although brief, the gameplay trailer offers glimpses at all of Forged Blood’s elements, including combat, narrative choices, character customization and its strategic map.
Forged of Blood Release Date
In Forged of Blood, players fight to reclaim a lost empire. As the gameplay trailer shows, you choose your engagements on a strategic map, after which the game transitions to personal, small scale turn-based combat. The systems going into the game’s combat, however, sound like they could set the title apart.
Forged of Blood’s character customization is described as “classless”, giving players a large amount of freedom when it comes to creating their fighters instead of having them deal with pre-determined archetypes. The title will feature 9 types of weapons, each with its own expansive skill tree, six general ability trees and a spellcasting system that also lets you build your own spells from a number of different possibilities.
In terms of narrative, Forged of Blood will present players with various choices. However, instead of relying on a binary good/evil system, it uses a “Tri-Axis Personality Index” which separate choices into three philosophies: altruism, rationalism, and hedonism.
Forged of Blood’s release date is fairly close, the title being scheduled to launch on PC, via Steam, on August 1. You can find more info on its Steam page and check out its latest gameplay trailer below.
