Gorilla Softworks is almost ready to release its 4x turn-based survival strategy game, The Ancients, which sees you leading a prehistoric hunter-gatherer tribe through the Ice Age.
The Ancients takes players to a frigid landscape, where you battle for survival by hunting dangerous animals for food and their fur’s warmth.
Migrate across continents during seasonal difficulties, develop new technologies, make social and political decisions for your tribe, and adapt to the harsh conditions during the Ice Age.
When does the The Ancients release on Steam?
The Ancients will launch into early access on Steam with a complete tutorial, campaign mode, and procedurally generated sandbox mode for replayability.
It will cost $19.99 with a 10% discount on the launch, which is happening on the 5th of June.

You can capture clan members from other factions or risk losing your own, and strategise how to use the additional villagers to build up your tribe and economy.
Build your own culture, choose between a patriarchal or matriarchal society, adopt polygamous or monogamous relationships, and develop fundamental religious ideas. Combine these elements to create your own spiritual beliefs.
We’re going to spend a bit of time playing it and gather our thoughts with an early preview build, but it appears like it’s a game with the complexities of a Paradox Interactive game mixed in with the turn-based strategy of Civilization 6.
