The Binding of Isaac: Repentance was teased as early as two years ago and today it received a Steam Page alongside an update revealing that it is “over 90% done”.
A DLC to 2014’s The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth – which, itself, remade 2011’s original game –, Repentance is described as being “basically a sequel”.
“The game is currently over 90% done. I’ve been working closely with the team to ensure that this is the ‘Sequel DLC’ you’ve always wanted. The team has gone above and beyond and we’re really proud of how the game is coming together and I have a feeling you’re gunna shit your asses when you get your hands on it.” McMillen wrote in a post.
The Binding of Isaac: Repentance DLC
The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is headed to both PC and console, regular blog updates being set to start when the second half of October rolls by.
“Isaac’s new quest takes him to unknown places he’s never been, filled with horrible new enemies and bosses, weapon combos you’ve never synergized before and items he’s never seen… unholy terrors from his wildest dreams and worst nightmares!” reads the DLCs Steam description.
McMillen didn’t share an exact release date for The Binding of Isaac: Repentance just yet, but said on Twitter that “we think end of year is still doable”.
