Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe and Supermassive Games today announced that The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is officially launching in 2021.
The follow-up to Little Hope and third game in a planned series of eight, The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes will be set in Iraq and feature a new story and cast of characters.
“Iraq, 2003. As the conflict draws to a close, CIA field operative Rachel King joins an elite military unit on a raid of a suspected underground chemical weapons facility in the shadow of the Zagros Mountains.” reads an emailed press release.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes Is Officially Launching Next Year
“Arriving at the coordinates, the unit is ambushed by a local patrol led by Sergeant Salim Othman. During the battle, an earthquake opens sinkholes in the ground, pitching both sides into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. In the darkness beneath the Arabian Desert, something evil is awakened. Savage and unstoppable, a nest of ancient and unearthly creatures has a new prey to hunt.”
Much like the previous two games in the series, House of Ashes will face the survivors against all manner of dangers and tough decisions.
Players will likely be challenged to navigate strained relationships or encourage characters to do whatever is necessary to save their own skin, even if it means leaving everyone else behind.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is aiming for a 2021 release on PC (digitally), Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4.
