UPDATE September 11: Now we know why The Last Remnant delisted from Steam happened, as there's a new version of the game on the way. The Last Remnant Remastered PS4 will be released digitally this December. although as for The Last Remnant Remastered PC we're not sure.
It's a weird quirk that The Last Remnant was an Xbox 360 exclusive, that came to PC improved, and now nearly 10 years later it's even more improved on PS4. However, this doesn't quite explain why it got delisted from Steam, other than possibly to have a suitable amount of time between pulling the original and re-launching the Remastered version on PC. Guess we'll find out in December.
Original Story, September 4:It goes without saying that your average JPRG is not a game everyone's going to enjoy, and this goes double for the more niche-oriented games in this fascinating sub-genre. The Last Remnant is one such game, and though it never did get widespread player approval, it certainly has its luster.
Originally released on PC via Steam back in 2009, it would seem that The Last Remnant won't be seeing its tenth birthday on everyone's favourite video game marketplace. Square Enix have announced that the game will be getting delisted and be made unavailable for purchase soon.
As per usual, if you've already bound a copy of The Last Remnant to your Steam account, it will remain available for download and playing, but there will be no way of purchasing the title in the future.
At the time of writing, The Last Remnant is going for €9,99 and promises an average of 79 hours to beat its main story and some additional content. If you're into JRPGs and haven't yet had the chance to play this game, now will be the time to buy it.
