Publisher and developer Rusty Lake today announced that co-op puzzle adventure game The Past Within is now slated to release just as we head into November.
The Past Within is the first co-op title set in the bizarre world of Rusty Lake, tasking two players with working together as they attempt to solve the mysteries surrounding Albert Vanderboom.
It also marks the first time the strange universe will have its environments presented in both 2D and 3D, the developer’s previous games sticking exclusively to the former.
The Past Within sees one player delving into the past while the other explores the future. Crossplay support makes it so that, as far as you have a way of communicating with your co-op partner, you can play together regardless of your preferred platform.
Both players do, however, need to purchase a copy of the game. According to its Steam Page, the two chapters can be completed in about two hours.
To get the full experience, the developer recommends playing from both perspectives. A replayability feature also lets you opt for a fresh start with new solutions to all puzzles.
The Past Within is set to release on November 2, heading to PC, Mac, Android and iOS. A Nintendo Switch is also planned to launch at a later date. Check out its latest trailer below.
