SEGA has told GameWatcher that Patch notes will arrive tomorrow, before release, which was when the exact changes coming in Warhammer III’s update 3.0 were unveiled.
The list is massive and we’ll highlight a handful of the more important ones here, starting with the randomization feature for Immortal Empires, which comes in handy when you can’t quite decide which race and legendary lord to play as next.
New regions and provinces have been added to both the Realm of Chaos and Immortal Empires campaign maps. Some races have new starting positions, several regions have had their borders adjusted, and a new Sea Lane has been added, linking River Ruin to the Frozen Sea.
The AI should perform better during walled settlement battles. On the campaign map, it will treat direct actions against a faction as more important when assessing strategic threats, while the importance of distance scaling has been increased, which brings a change into how it selects relevant threats.
Line of sight improvements have also been introduced in Total War: Warhammer III’s update 3.0, alongside a long list of balance changes to several factions. You can check them all out by following the link above.
The update will be accompanied by two pieces of FreeLC. One introduces Ulrika Magdova as a legendary hero for both Kislev and the Empire, the other is the long-rumored Mirror of Madness, developed in collaboration with Intel.
The developer also explained that the approach it takes with Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs, which launches with three legendary lords and a new legendary hero, “is the path we’ll be following for future releases,” after fans requested more of the latter.
