Publisher Sega and developer Creative Assembly today announced that Total War: Warhammer 3’s release date has been locked down to February 17, 2022. Initially slated to launch in 2021, Total War: Warhammer 3 was delayed back in September.
Total War: Warhammer 3’s release date announcement was accompanied by the news that it would also be available on Xbox Game Pass for PC on day one, marking a first for the long-running grand strategy series. On top of that, the Ogre Kingdoms Race Pack was also confirmed as the game’s early adopter bonus, a move predicted by players when a handful of Ogre mercenaries were added to Total War: Warhammer 2.
Total War Warhammer 3 Release Date
It’s fantastic to finally put a release date on our epic third instalment,” said Chief Product Officer Rob Bartholomew “And, in partnering with Xbox Game Pass, we’re able to bring the ruinous powers of Chaos to as many players as possible. May all serve within their glorious embrace.”
Total War: Warhammer III’s release date is also when fans can get their hands on the grand strategy game’s two physical editions. The Day One Edition includes a double-sided poster featuring Warhammer III’s campaign map and cover art, alongside a Chaos Icons sticker sheet, and the Ogre Kingdoms Race Pack.
Total War: Warhammer III’s bigger Limited Edition comes with a crimson embossed metal case that features symbols depicting the four Chaos Gods, alongside all the items in the Day One Edition.
Sega and Creative Assembly have revealed quite a bit of information about Total War Warhammer 3, including the army rosters of Tzeentch, Grand Cathay, Khorne, and Kislev.
The title will also rework sieges, giving defenders the opportunity to build barricades and traps inside its multi-level settlements while refreshing the available map pool, and aims to provide clearer auto-resolve results allowing armies to escape ambush battles.
Total War: Warhammer 3 releases on February 17, 2022, and is headed to PC, via Steam, the Epic Games Store, alongside Xbox Game Pass.
