After revealing more about Kislev and its mastery over ice magic back in May, Total War: Warhammer 3 is now shifting focus towards the Daemons of Khorne and, more importantly, Skarbrand, one of the legendary lords that leads them into battle.
The Wrathful Reaper himself, Skarbrand, was confirmed as a playable legendary lord for Total War: Warhammer 3’s Daemons of Khorne during today’s Warhammer Skulls Showcase.
The Bloodthirster was shown off in a trailer that also offers a look into some of the units that make up Khorne’s army. It mostly seems to be focused on melee units, with a good mix of infantry and cavalry, but also sports artillery as a ranged solution.
“As the most powerful melee combatant to ever grace the battlefields of Total War: WARHAMMER, Skarbrand has a host of unique abilities which improve his battle prowess. His twin axes, Slaughter & Carnage increase his damage output with every kill made, whilst Bellow of Endless Fury allows him to unleash a devastating fire-breath attack,” publisher Sega explained to us.
“Beyond these, he also has the passive ability to inflict rampage upon his weak-minded foes, rendering them incapable of retreating from the slaughter he presides over.”
Khorne’s daemons are described as “a high-tempo army that relishes closing the distance upon the enemy with devastating impact before unleashing their vicious hand-to-hand combat skills.” The longer they stay in battle, the more bonuses they unlock, increasing their power.
Total War: Warhammer 3 arrives on PC in late 2021. Here are 9 things you need to know about it and what races we can expect to see at and after launch.
