Publisher and developer Dreamlit Games has unveiled the early access roadmap for upcoming open world sandbox game Towers of Aghasba, detailing the content we can expect throughout 2025 and beyond.
Following the game’s launch on November 19, 2024, the studio will spend the remaining months of the year focusing on polishing the initial build of the game while adding quality-of-life updates alongside stability improvements.
Towers of Aghasba Early Access Roadmap
This should give anyone hopping in enough time to familiarize themselves with Towers of Aghasba’s ecosystem and Withered threat before the chunkier updates on its early access roadmap are deployed.
Q1 2025
In Q1 2025, the title will receive a new region and quest line alongside new creatures and the introduction of time of day-related mechanics, which see creatures spawning at specific times.
A highlight of this period is the addition of an offline mode, which has proven to be quite popular among fans of other sandbox games.
The glider will also receive additional traversal methods, making navigating the island a bit easier.
Lastly, new emotes will allow our avatars to better express themselves, while the addition of the photo mode ensures that we can share pictures that truly make our settlements stand out.
Q2 2025
Towers of Aghasba’s early access roadmap kicks off Q2 2025 with the addition of new mounts and a mount management system.
New multiplayer experiences and activities are also planned, alongside the addition of new creatures, quests, and crossplay.
Our avatars will also receive more customization options, while improvements are planned for both the townsfolk AI and Shimudex entries.
Q3 2025
Heading into Q3 2025, a new Withered NPC character appears on the island, alongside a new region, quest line, and the rather awesome-sounding giant demon combat feature.
Whether this means we’ll get to transform into giant demons of fight them in some capacity remains to be seen, but both options sound awesome.
Environmental cold effects and resistances then add more complexity as the game’s world expands with yet another region and even more new creatures.
Speaking of creatures, this is when they’ll receive a relationship system, although it’s unclear if this means we’ll get to befriend them or if we’ll see certain creatures befriending or antagonizing each other.
Q4 2025
Towers of Aghasba’s early access roadmap wraps up 2025 with the addition of the shallow water biome, which encompasses a new region, ecosystem, creatures, foliage, and quest.
In time for the holidays, the new fishing village will also be introduced.
2026
Developer Dreamlit Games’ intends to update its debut project going into 2026, when it hopes to add increased tower levels, new Withered content, a new major quest line, a town happiness system, building customization, and more.
As ambitious as Towers of Aghasba’s early access roadmap is, these plans are all subject to change and will depend on how well the title is received following its launch.
If you’ve yet to dive deeper into what it has to offer, you can read our initial impressions and, while we wait, find out if the title is headed to Game Pass and the Nintendo Switch.
