Taking on the role of junior architects, our goal is to help the Shimu tribe restore the ecosystems of the island while rebuilding their villages, which were previously lost to a malevolent force known as the withered.
The latter act as the cornerstone of our efforts to bring civilization back and the exact flavor of village we’ll get to build depends on the biome we choose for it.
In practice, this means that our surroundings determine which types of structures can be constructed.
Before settling areas, however, we’ll need to use Colossal Seeds to infuse life back into the lands and create ecosystems of various flora and fauna.
Towers of Aghasba’s ecosystems provide the resources required to expand villages, but it is vital to maintain the balance and ensure that plants continue growing so that the nearby creatures can continue to secure much-needed food.
As idyllic as this sounds, the withered are still around and, the further inland we venture, the closer we get to their lands, covered in a toxic haze.
That’s where crafting the proper tools, weapons, armor, food, and elixirs come into play. While doing all of the above, our mount and glider make adventuring and discovering the island’s history easier.
When Tower of Aghasba’s early access release date occurs, the title will also support 4-player co-op.
From that point on, the developer expects it will take between 12 and 18 months to get the game ready for its full launch. You can find more about it by visiting its Steam page and dedicated post on the PlayStation Blog.
