Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Frozenbyte today unveiled Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy, the latest installment in the popular 2.5D puzzle-platforming series.
Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy maintains the series’ 2.5D puzzle-platforming formula and promises to take Amadeus the Wizard, Zoya the Thief, and Pontius the Knight on their “most action-packed journey yet”.
Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy Announced
The fifth entry in the series invites players to explore twenty levels as they journey through its vibrant, fairytale world.
In this adventure, the heroes face Lady Sunny and her sinister acolyte, who plan to reshape the kingdom and eliminate the three protagonists.
Amadeus, Zoya, and Pontius must confront an army of clockwork soldiers and the Rat Gang as they strive to save the land.
While employing familiar mechanics, Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy features puzzles that adapt to the number of players in the session, a skill quest system, and new tactical multi-phase boss fights.
Players can explore a range of environments, from dazzling gemstone caverns to treacherous underwater passageways, either solo or with up to three other players in both local and online co-op.
The game’s puzzles promise replayability and dynamic physics, requiring players to manipulate and navigate around elements such as fire, air, light, magnets, and electricity.
Moreover, difficulty settings will be available for combat, puzzles, and character resurrection to accommodate different playstyles.
Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy is set to launch this summer on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. The trailer below offers a first glimpse of the game’s antagonists and enhanced visuals.
