Two Point Hospital Multiplayer - Is There Multiplayer?
It may surprise a few people to note that Theme Hospital, the 1997 Bullfrog classic that Two Point Hospital is a spiritual sequel to, had multiplayer. Players created their own hospital in direct competition to each other, can send over patients, bid for building expansions, and even drop litter bombs on each other. It was basic but amusing.
There is multiplayer in Two Point Hospital... sort of. In a way it's the current-gen iteration of Theme Hospital's multiplayer, in that you are competing with your friends - you're just not directly connected.
If you have Steam friends who own and play Two Point Hospital, they show up in-game. End-of-year leaderboards tally such features as Profits, Cure Rate, Reputation and even Staff Morale, and will then place your hospital's totals against your Steam friends. The advisor will also pop-up during the game to helpfully tell you how you compare to your friends.
Unfortunately you cannot drop litter bombs or send unruly patients to your friends. You can at least tell them to "suck it" and show them screenshots when you beat them on all the leaderboards, though. If that happens...
