Post-launch support for Victoria 3 includes plans to refine several systems, with the goal of improving the game’s socio-economic simulation and enhancing the player experience. The upcoming release of patch 1.2 is expected to introduce significant changes beyond mere bug fixes.
While a fixed schedule for updates similar to that of Stellaris has not been announced for Victoria 3, the recent release of the game’s first major update gives us an indication of when to expect the next significant batch of tweaks.
Victoria 3 Patch 1.2 Release Date
Publisher Paradox Interactive hasn’t revealed the exact Victoria 3 patch 1.2 release date just yet, but it’s very much safe to assume that we won’t see it happening until sometime in 2023.

Whether that will be sooner rather than later remains to be seen and it depends on how quickly the team behind the game manages to prepare all of its intended changes.
Victoria 3’s initial roadmap does give us an idea of what the developer is currently working on and the first developer diary dedicated to the patch confirms that autonomous investment will be added when the update goes live.
Available as a toggleable game rule, it lets you decide whether you want to control the Investment Pool or not during your game.
Changes to economical laws are also planned, in an attempt to gain better differentiation between the various available systems.
Some of them won’t play too differently while others, like Agrarianism and Laissez-Faire will receive more noticeable tweaks.
UX improvements are also planned, including a richer set of options for message settings, a population overview tab that offers more details at a glance, as well as three new map modes filtering by literacy, population, and infamy.
Before Victoria 3’s patch 1.2 gets a release date, it will be available in open beta, giving players a chance to test upcoming changes and offer more feedback.
The beta is set to go live on February 8, while the full version of the patch is currently expected to become available starting with March 13.
