Warframe's Acolyte Event sees the return of the mythical Acolytes - followers of a certain red-and-black assassin. If you haven't come across the Stalker just yet, no worries, as there are no spoilers here. In any case, Acolytes have made their return and they will be available for you to hunt down until 14th of August.
Now, you might be wondering - what is it that makes the Acolytes as special and interesting as they are, and what is it that you can expect to get by participating. The answer lies in the loot. Each and every Acolyte drops a selection of unique mods that are not available in any other way, and some are really cool.
Warframe's Acolyte Event - What is it?
The Acolyte event has a number of layers that players have to unravel. There are five Acolytes, each of which has a health bar that will keep decreasing as the event goes on (as the players keep dealing damage to it), and once said Acolyte is put out of its misery, that's it - it won't be available until the next time the event is up.
The event starts with none of the Acolytes available, and players can find out where they are by playing random missions across the starmap. Once an Acolyte is located at least once, everybody will be able to find them via the event interface. This is the window in which you'll have the chance to farm their special mods.
To do so, simply kickstart the mission where an Acolyte is located and play through it normally. Eventually, the Acolyte will make itself known as a special mini-boss enemy, and you will have to take it down for them to drop a particular, situational boost mod.
These mods tend to provide such bonuses as 'boosted crit chance upon doing a headshot', and some are very valuable in trade chat when the event is up. While most are interesting, you will want to look for Blood Rush, Body Count, and Argon Scope, as these are the most venerable mods of the entire set.
Naturally, every Acolyte has their own drop table, and you will have to do a fair few runs to complete your collection of the situationals, but at least you've got an entire week to do so! Good hunting.
