Publisher and developer Total Mayhem Games today announced the release of We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip, a smaller installment in their long-running series of co-op puzzle games.
The first entry in the Expedition sub-series, The FriendShip promises a more casual experience that can be completed in one or two hours.
We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip is available for free now
Focusing on having fun rather than escaping a desperate situation, the title is described as the “perfect starting point” for anyone who has yet to give the developer’s games a shot.
We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip begins with two explorers hearing and pursuing a distress call. This leads them to a deserted island that houses an amusement park filled with puzzles.
Teamwork remains the key to solving them and your performance is scored. Regardless if you’re a newcomer who’s learning the ropes or a veteran aiming for the highest score possible, you’ll be able to show off your results thanks to a shareable, personalized, animated end-screen.
Failure comes with no heavy cost, either, as you can try the puzzles as many times as you want. In addition, although these bite-sized games are “slightly interwoven” with the main series, prior knowledge of the latter’s mechanics or events isn’t required to enjoy them alongside a friend.
We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip is free to claim until October 13, 2023 on PC (via both Steam and the Epic Games Store), PS5, and PS4.
Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S users can access the title for ten hours after starting their trial.
From October 14 onwards, the title will cost €3.99/$3.99/£2.99 across all platforms. Check out its launch trailer below.
