Is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 going to be released for the PC in the future? Currently, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is exclusive to the PlayStation 5. There hasn’t been an official announcement regarding a PC release.
Given the pattern of previous PlayStation exclusives eventually launching on PC, there’s potential for a future release, but as of now, no official statements have been made.
One of the best perks of owning a console over a PC is, no doubt, being able to enjoy console-exclusive games. With Spider-Man 2 set to release in late 2023 on PS5, many players are curious whether they’d also get to jump aboard the fun train and play this superhero action-adventure game on PC.
So, will Marvel’s Spider-Man be released on PC? The answer to this question is not a simple one, as there’s a lot of speculation about the game’s availability on other platforms.
Will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Be Released on PC?
Unfortunately, the answer is no, at least for the time being. In one of Insomniac Games’ tweets, it is revealed that the game is set to release in fall 2023 and will be exclusive to PS5 at launch, completely leaving PS4 in the dark.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC Release Date: Expected in 2025
During Summer Game Fest 2023, the developer narrowed down Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s release date to October 20, 2023.
As the game’s PS5 version became available, no additional details were shared about a potential PC version.
While this may sound disappointing to PC players, there’s still hope that the game will be coming to PC. Looking at the history of PlayStation-exclusive games, like Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last of Us Part 1, generally, it’s only a matter of time until the PC release window gets announced.
If that’s not enough, take a look at the original Marvel’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales games, for example. These games have one thing in common: they’re both currently available on PC, despite being PlayStation exclusives at launch.
In an interview with Famitsu, translated by ResetEra, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan suggested that, while PC ports remain part of the company’s strategy, they may continue to launch years after the PS5 versions, which could also apply to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s potential PC release.
“We also fully understand the importance of PS5 exclusive titles. As I mentioned earlier, PlayStation Studios’ main responsibility is to have people enjoy the game experience using the latest PS. We are increasing the number of PS5-exclusive titles and staggering the release of the PC version,” Ryan said.
“I often have the opportunity to ask game fans for their opinions, and when I ask them about the time lag, they say that selling the PC version two or three years after the release of the PS version is accepted favorably.”
At the moment, all we can do is wait and be patient for the official announcement.
