We've known that Wolfenstein Youngblood, the latest game in the Wolfenstein FPS series from Bethesda, was coming in 2019 since it was shown off at the publisher's E3 conference last year - but we've not had anything since. Now at last we've not only got a new Wolfenstein Youngblood trailer, but we finally know the Wolfenstein Youngblood release date.
You can check out the first proper story trailer for the game below, which is set two decades after the end of Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus - and it's not Wolfenstein 3 as that's been confirmed as its own thing, Youngblood is a co-op-based flash-forward sequel/spin-off. The important part is the release date, however, and it's not too far away - it's July 26, just a month after Rage 2.
The game introduces us to Jess and Soph Blazkowicz, twin daughters of BJ Blazkowicz and Anya Oliwa, and the dual protagonists of Wolfenstein Youngblood. The game is playable completely in co-op or single-player, and the twins' goal is to find their father and oust the Reich from France. It's set in 1980, nearly two decades after The New Colossus, and features returning characters such as Anya and Grace Walker.
One of the more interesting facts shown off is that anyone who buys the Wolfenstein Youngblood Deluxe Edition, aside from the various goodies such as the Cyborg skin pack, will also be able to invite a friend to play with them - even if that friend doesn't own the game. That's a neat touch for a co-op-focused game.
Wolfenstein Youngblood will be out on July 26, a month after Bethesda's other FPS Rage 2, and Bethesda recently confirmed that the game would be appearing on Steam as well as Bethesda's own client.
