World of Warcraft’s Children’s Week 2023 event has kicked off, giving both retail and Classic players a chance to take the orphans of Azeroth with them on their adventures. Doing so lets you complete achievements and obtain unique rewards between its start and end dates.
Aside from its usual rewards, the Children’s Week 2023 event also lets you obtain additional Trader’s Tender, which you can spend at the relatively new Trading Post for limited-time goodies.
World of Warcraft Children's Week 2023 Event Start and End Dates
WoW’s Children’s Week 2023 event has locked down its start date to May 1. It is then set to end one week later, on May 8. This applies to both the retail and Classic versions of the MMORPG.
- World of Warcraft Children's Week 2023 event start date: May 1
- World of Warcraft Children's Week 2023 event end date: May 8
To take part, you’ll need to have at least one character who’s reached level 10, then talk to specific NPCs found in different areas of Azeroth.
For the Kul Tiran orphan questline, you’ll want to seek out Orphan Matron Westerson in Boralus, while Padae in Zuldazar lets you start the Zandalari orphan questline.
Orphan Matron Nightingale in Stormwind lets you set off on the Human orphan questline, while Orphan Matron Battlewail in Orgrimmar is glad to help you show Orc orphans what adventuring is like.
For the Draenei and Blood Elf quests, you’ll need to speak with Orphan Matron Mercy in Shattrath. Lastly, Orphan Matron Aria in Dalaran lets you start the Wolvar and Oracle questlines.
Retail players have access to all of the above quests, while Classic players can only access the Human, Orc, Draenei, and Blood Elf questlines, reflecting the state of the event during the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.
Completing these quests during World of Warcraft’s Children’s Week 2023 event lets you earn the following rewards:
- Boralus and Zuldazar: Mr. Crabs, Beakbert, Froglet, and Scaley
- Orgrimmar and Stormwind: Whiskers the Rat, Speedy, Scooter the Snail, Mr. Wiggles
- Shattrath: Egbert, Peanut, Willy, Legs
- Dalaran (Northrend): Curious Oracle Hatchling, Curious Wolvar Pup
If you’ve kept busy during previous years and have already added all the above battle pets to your collection, you’ll instead receive a Pet Care Package, “which provides a variety of items, including pug costumes, Magical Pet Biscuit, and a Flawless Battle-Stone.”
