Blizzard has officially revealed the release date of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic’s content Phase 2, while also clarifying when the highly anticipated Ulduar raid will finally (re)open its gates to adventurers.
Aside from the Ulduar raid, WoW: WotLK: Classic’s content Phase 2 brings a new type of emblem, PvP season, and more challenging heroic dungeons, while laying the groundwork for the Argent Tournament in Icecrown.
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic Phase 2 Release Date
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic has locked down the release of content Phase 2 to January 17, which is when the bulk of its additions should become available on live servers.
WotLK Classic’s Ulduar raid release date will occur two days later, on January 19 at 23:59 GMT+1, giving players a few extra days to prepare for their battle against Thorim, Mimiron, Yogg-Saron, and other bosses.

Phase 2 introduces the Emblems of Conquest as a new currency. They can be otained from all of Ulduar’s bosses and as a reward for completing the Proof of Demise heroic dungeon daily quests.
The Emblems of Valor which we’ve farmed throughout Phase 1 will drop from all heroic dungeon bosses and will also be given to players as rewards for completing the normal dungeon daily quests.
This means that Emblems of Heroism will no longer be rewarded for defeating heroic dungeon bosses. That being said, you can exchange both Emblems of Conquest and Emblems of Valor for Emblems of Heroism in Dalaran.
To do so, you only need to interact with NPCs like Usuri Brightcoin, which you’ll find in The Underbelly, at The Cantrips & Crows Tavern.
Dalaran also gets new vendors you’ll want to look out for in both the Sunreaver’s Sanctuary (Horde) and The Silver Enclave (Alliance), who exchange Emblems of Conquest for powerful items, including select raid set pieces and Deadly Gladiator PvP sets.
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic’s Phase 2 marks the start of PvP Season 6. When it ends, players who’ve performed well enough in the arena will be rewarded with the Furious Gladiator title and the Furious Gladiator’s Frost Wyrm mount.
The rating requirements for Furious Gladiator’s gear haven’t changed from Season 5. Items from previous arena seasons, can be found at arena and honor vendors with some of their costs adjusted and rating requirements removed.
WotLK Classic’s Phase 2 then adds a Mysterious Titanic Relic to the entrance of all level 80 heroic dungeons. Interacting with it allows parties of players to activate a more challenging version of these dungeons.
This effectively translates to all enemies in the dungeon receiving extra health and damage alongside various additional effects.
The bosses of these harder dungeons have a chance to drop gear that could be previously obtained from the normal 10-player version of the Naxxramas, Eye of Eternity, and The Obsidian Sanctum raids.
Lastly, players will notice movement on the northeastern coast of Icecrown, where preparations for the Argent Tournament are underway.
That is what you need to know about World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic’s content Phase 2 and Ulduar raid release date.
