Zombie shooter World War Z launched on PC last year as an Epic Games Store exclusive, being one of multiple titles that ditched Steam in favor of the then-fledgling storefront. But is there any chance of a Steam release date for it?
Here’s what we know about whether or not World War Z will eventually head to Steam and a potential release date.
World War Z Steam Release Date
Generally speaking, the titles that launched on PC as Epic Games Store exclusives did so on a limited-time basis. Like in the case of Metro Exodus, which recently released on Steam, and Ashen, this involved a one-year period of exclusivity.
Provided that was the case with World War Z, that would have placed its Steam release date on or around April 16, 2020, as the title launched on the Epic Games Store on the same day in 2019.
World War Z did, however, not launch on Steam one year later, remaining an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC. Furthermore, it was also given away for free on Epic’s storefront.
The game’s official channels have focused on detailing post-launch updates and weekly challenges, having yet to tackle the subject of a potential Steam launch.
