Microsoft today announced Xbox Game Pass Core, a new subscription option that it describes as “the evolution of Xbox Live Gold.” Set to launch on September 14, it also comes with a list of more than 25 titles accessible to all subscribers.
For the price of $9.99 USD per month or $59.99 USD per year, Xbox Game Pass Core grants access to online multiplayer on Microsoft’s consoles, various member deals and discounts, alongside the aforementioned growing library of games.

“With this evolution, we’re saying farewell to Games with Gold,” reads a post on the official Xbox website. “We wanted to use this opportunity to re-imagine how to include content with this subscription. We found that the answer to the most compelling catalog was to leverage select titles from our Xbox Game Pass catalog.”
As far as Xbox Game Pass Core’s library goes, 19 titles available when the subscription launches have been revealed so far. More will be added to the list in the lead-up to its September 19 release.
Afterwards, subscribers can expect new additions “2-3 times a year.” Here is how the Xbox Game Pass Core list looks at the moment.
- Among Us
- Descenders
- Dishonored 2
- Doom Eternal
- Fable Anniversary
- Fallout 4
- Fallout 76
- Forza Horizon 4
- Gears 5
- Grounded
- Halo 5: Guardians
- Halo Wars 2
- Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
- Human Fall Flat
- Inside
- Ori & The Will of the Wisps
- Psychonauts 2
- State of Decay 2
- The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
When the subscription launches, Xbox Live Gold members will automatically become Game Pass Core members, with no change in pricing.
After Games With Gold is discontinued on September 1, users will retain access to Xbox One games previously redeemed through Games with Gold, provided they remain subscribed to either Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate.
Access to Xbox 360 titles redeemed in the same manner will be retained “regardless of subscription status.”
