XDefiant is barely going through its beta testing phase, but players who were lucky enough to try out Ubisoft’s free-to-play first-person shooter have seemingly already bumped into cheaters.
As with all competitive PvP-focused games, XDefiant cheaters could pose a major problem for the title, which is Ubisoft’s attempt to enter the 6v6 arcade FPS arena that Call of Duty has comfortably controlled for a while now.
XDefiant Cheaters using aimbots for beta?
Following the game’s closed beta, some players already pointed out that they have encountered cheaters while playing XDefiant.
Although this experience hasn’t been shared across the board, it still raises questions about how effective Ubisoft’s anti-cheat solution will prove to be when the title fully launches.
YouTube user SGTSkully posted a video that apparently highlights one XDefiant cheat seemingly being advertised.
It’s difficult to say whether or not this will be a recurring theme going forward. It’s possible that the break between the game’s closed beta and its upcoming open session – which you can learn more about by following the link at the top of this article – could have given developer Ubisoft time to patch out potential vulnerabilities and fine-tune its anti-cheat to better detect illicit software.
The developer will then have another window of opportunity to further improve things in the lead-up to the game’s planned summer launch and, of course, beyond, as the live service fully kicks into gear.
Hopefully, XDefiant’s cheaters will only be associated with its closed beta and not turn out to be a massive problem for players eager to spend time mastering the arcade FPS.
