Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair today received a new trailer which gives players a look at the alternative level states they can encounter in Playtonic and Team 17’s upcoming puzzle-platformer.
As the trailer shows, alternative level states change up existing locations in the game by flooding them, flipping them upside down or adding electricity. Naturally, this adds new challenges to navigating Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair’s levels, practically doubling the number of stages from 20 to 40.
Level States Trailer
“In Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, players must rescue members of Queen Phoebee’s Royal Beettalion from Capital B in a quest to take on his most dastardly challenge yet – the Impossible Lair. Players will explore a charming 3D overworld to uncover 20 different 2.5D levels, each with a member of the Royal Beettalion to rescue.”
You’ll be able to unlock the alternative level states as you explore the game’s overworld, by discovering various secrets and puzzles spread throughout it.
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is scheduled to release at some point in Q4 2019 on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
