After narrowing down Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair’s release date to some point in October, developer Playtonic Games and publisher Team 17 have finally revealed the exact date when the anticipated sequel is set to arrive.
Thus, fans of Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair can hop into the duo’s second adventure on October 8 when the game is set to launch on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. On top of that, pre-orders for the title are now live.

The Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair release date announcement was accompanied by the news that Tonics are making a return. The 62 Tonics present in the sequel won’t just alter gameplay by granting players infinite rolling and super speed or strengthening foes, but will also unlock new environmental and visual effects.
In case you’ve missed it until now, in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair the two heroes must save Queen Phoebee’s Royal Beettalion Guard from dastardly antagonist Capital B. The title will feature both 2.5D levels and a 3D overworld for players to explore.
