Supreme Ruler: The Great War marks an impressive 35 years since BattleGoat Studios co-founder George Geczy first started the series in 1982. The Great War puts you at the helm of a nation of your choosing in 1914 as Europe becomes embroiled in the monumental battles that would become World War I. Will you throw your lot in the Central Powers under the leadership of Kaiser Wilhelm and King Franz Joseph? Will your loyalty go to the Triple Entante to aid Russia, France, or the United Kingdom in putting an end to this war? Perhaps you will choose any of the many regions caught in the middle of the terrifying conflict? The choice is yours.
The Great War offers players over 50 selectable factions to take up as you engage in the politics, battles, intimidation, and alliances of 1914. You can play out events in tactical, diplomatic, and real-time engagements as they truly happened or take on a sandbox mode that allows you to alter the outcomes of various events. A butterfly effect system is in place to change historical events and outcomes based on what you do. Meanwhile, a huge tech tree allows you to grow your armies and arsenal, representing the enormous amount of military growth that came of of World War I.
