Crysis and Crysis 2 multiplayer "will no longer be playable" from May 31st
With the GameSpy Technologies shutdown this May 31st there are going to be a lot of games with any multiplayer, unless studios get patching. Crytek has confirmed Crysis 1 & 2 will be losing their online portions. May 31st will be the "conclusion of online multiplayer support" as the GameSpy service shuts off. Both games' single-player campaigns are "unaffected by this transition,".
Crytek rebukes 'unlawful' layoff claims, "had phases of crunch"
Someone isn't happy with Crysis developer Crytek and an allegation heavy blog cites 'unlawful' dismissals, heavy crunch times and employee lawsuits. Crytek has responded and plainly cried "bullsh*t" that their relocation to a new Frankfurt office would cause about 70 redundancies. It's got "more desks" not less.
Yerli: Crytek 'ready' for Crysis 3
Crytek head Cevat Yerli confirms the studio is happy to jump at a third full instalment to the Crysis franchise, though he swears this is 'no formal announcement'. There "is a plan" already in place for how the fiction of Crysis "should roll out," but a trilogy must wait on Crysis 2's performance, which is due end of March.
Crysis 2 in autumn, beta plans
EA slaps Crytek's Crysis 2 with an autumn date which means it retails during the busy Q3/4 period. There's also a multiplayer beta in the works. No exact details have escaped Crytek yet on the beta but fans that sign up to the relaunched MyCrysis service will get a heads up from the studio.
PC Gamer has Crysis 2 pegged for December, EA "cannot confirm"
The latest issue of PC Gamer magazine has a tiny box with December in it for Crytek's Crysis 2, but publisher EA can't comment on that yet. They've "not actually confirmed" when the sci-fi shooter sequel hits the shops, so they "unfortunately" can't say if December is accurate or not.
