Diablo 4’s June launch might be several months away but its upcoming open beta gives us a chance to cull hordes of demons prior to the full release. Blizzard has now shared details about how early access to the beta works alongside its start dates, times, and rewards, and it’s all looking quite good.
Diablo 4’s open beta is made up of two weekend-long play sessions scheduled for late March 2023. One week separates them and access requirements differ for each of the two.
Diablo IV Open Beta Start Dates and Times
Diablo IV’s early access open beta weekend has locked down its start date and time to March 17 at 9 AM PDT/12 PM ET/5 PM GMT. Its end date is set to occur on March 20 at 12 PM PDT/3 PM ET/8 PM GMT.
In order to play during the early access weekend, you’ll need to have pre-ordered Diablo IV prior to or while it’s live. If you aren’t into pre-ordering games, you can still get a chance to see how the fourth entry in the series plays.
Diablo IV’s open beta proper, which is available to anyone interested in trying out the game, has locked in its start date and time to March 24 at 9 AM PDT/12 PM ET/5 PM GMT, concluding on March 27 at 12 PM PDT/3 PM ET/8 PM GMT.

Available on PC, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PS 5, and PS4, the beta gives us a taste of the action-RPG’s prologue alongside Act 1 in its entirety. |
We’ll get to slay demons across the first playable zone, Fractured Peaks, face a world boss that spawns at set times, and grow our characters up to level 25.
The city of Kyovashad acts as a base of operations where we can perform activities like repairing and purchasing new gear, upgrading your health potion, and accessing your stash.
Main and side quests will be available, alongside smaller world events and their longer, more challenging Legion counterparts. We’ll also get to sample several dungeons, murdering their denizens for experience and loot.
In addition, world boss Ashava will spawn at the following times:
- March 18 at 10 AM/12 PM/10 PM/12 AM PDT; 1 PM/3 PM/1 PM/3 AM EDT; 5 PM GMT/7 PM GMT/5 AM GMT/7 AM GMT
- March 25 at 10 AM/12 PM/10 PM/12 AM PDT; 1 PM/3 PM/1 PM/3 AM EDT; 5 PM GMT/7 PM GMT/5 AM GMT/7 AM GMT
Three classes – Barbarian, Rogue, and Sorcerer – will be playable during the early access weekend. One week later, when everyone can access the Diablo IV open beta, that number goes up to 5, as the Druid and Necromancer also join the fray.
Hopping into either Diablo IV’s early access or open beta weekends enables you to earn the following three rewards:
- Initial Casualty Title: earned by reaching Kyovashad with one character.
- Early Voyager Title: earned by reaching Level 20 on one character.
- Beta Wolf Pack Cosmetic Item: earned by reaching Level 20 on one character.
Blizzard has also confirmed that pre-loading will become available closer to the start dates above. Anyone jumping in during the first weekend can pre-load Diablo IV’s early access open beta starting on March 15 at 9 AM PDT/12 PM EDT/4 PM GMT.
During the second weekend, pre-loading goes live on March 22 at 9 AM PDT/12 PM EDT/4 PM GMT.
