When it launches in 2023, Diablo 4 promises to keep us quite busy tracking down Lilith and reducing her legions of demons to ash. If you’ve been aching to revisit Sanctuary, you may be curious whether or not it the hack and slash RPG might make its way to Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass.
Diablo 4’s inclusion in the PC Game Pass library would allow more players to try their hand at slaying Hell’s denizens without having to commit to a traditional purchase. The lower price of entry could also win over players who might be on the fence, ensuring a livelier multiplayer environment.
Diablo 4 Xbox Game Pass
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we’ll see Diablo 4 arriving on either PC or Xbox Game Pass at launch.
Microsoft’s subscription service hasn’t been brought up during the game’s pre-release marketing campaign and previous entries in the series are also not part of its library.

In March 2023, Diablo General Manager Rod Fergusson also confirmed that Blizzard currently has “no plans” to bring the fourth entry in the series to the service.
While this seems to be the final nail in the coffin as far as Diablo 4 also launching on PC Game Pass goes, there is one variable worth keeping in mind for the future.
Microsoft could still end up acquiring Activision Blizzard, which would likely bring the entirety of the Diablo franchise under its wing.
Given how the company puts heavy emphasis on Game Pass, we could then see the hack and slash RPG joining its library.
Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer noted, in a blog post from September 2022, that the company “intend[s] to make Activision Blizzard’s much-loved library of games – including Overwatch, Diablo and Call of Duty – available in Game Pass and to grow those gaming communities.”
Whether or not that comes to pass remains to be seen, but we’ll update this article should anything change in the future.
That is what we know so far about whether or not Diablo IV could make its way to Xbox Game Pass or its PC counterpart in 2023. For more on the game, find out if crossplay support might be planned alongside what PC specs we’ll need to play the hack and slash RPG.
