Friends list, chat, convenience, easy screenshots, these are all available if you use the Steam overlay with Fallout 76. So let us show you How to use Fallout 76 with the Steam Overlay!
Fallout 76 Steam Overlay - How to Use Fallout 76 with Steam
There are two ways to use the Steam overlay with Fallout 76, with varying degrees of usefulness and ease of installation.
The first is to simply go to Steam and add the game as a non-Steam game. This was our target:
""C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda.net Launcher\games\Fallout76\Fallout76.exe"
(Alter if your folders are different) This worked fine for us, but it doesn't work for everyone.
The second then is to use the special Steam Overlay mod by KoBRaAndrey, which "enables players to play Fallout 76 using Steam overlay. There is an automatic Bethesda launcher starting and closing upon exit." Fairly straightforward to install - you download the file, unpack it to a folder of your choice (perhaps in the same one as Fallout 76), and then follow the same "add-non Steam game" procedure above, except this time you should search for "unpacked Fallout 76.exe".
You add that to Steam, and the Steam overlay should work smoothly! Enjoy!
