The alpha stage for Smite 2 is scheduled to launch on August 27th. If you’ve purchased the Founder’s Edition, you will gain access. However, you may have discovered an error message indicating that the Easy Anti-Cheat client hasn’t been installed when you try loading, preventing you from playing. Here’s how to resolve this issue.
The Easy Anti Cheat client is meant to be installed automatically when you download Smite 2 on Steam but for some reason, for some players, it appears that this doesn’t always happen.
How do you install Easy Anti Cheat manually for Smite 2?
The good news is there’s a rather simple fix because the files are located within Smite 2’s Steam folder, you have to know where to look.
If you head to the following path on your file explorer you should see an executable file named EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SMITE 2 Playtest\Windows\EasyAntiCheat
Load up this executable file and it will install.
Reinstalling the game can work, but this is a faster way of solving the problem and won’t cost you any bandwidth redownloading Smite 2. After all, with the game just launched, all we want to do is get to playing rather than messing about solving problems.
If this doesn’t solve your issue you can reach out to us and we will try to help as best we can.
