It’s hard to imagine that you once had to survive the cruel and forsaken world of Project Zomboid alone, with no one to rely on. Thankfully, after multiplayer mode was added in Build 41, you can join or host servers, allowing you to team up with friends and strangers to slay zombies and try to survive for as long as possible.
That said, you may be wondering how to spawn with friends in Project Zomboid. Considering players start off with a blank map at the beginning of the game, you may have a hard time locating your friends. So, if you want to spawn together with your buddies right off the bat, here’s everything you need to know about how to spawn with friends in Project Zomboid.
How to Spawn Together with Friends in Project Zomboid
To spawn with your friend, you can decide on a location to meet up on the map by using an online Project Zomboid map. This tool allows you to keep track of buildings and waypoints on the map, making it easier to find your way around the world. Here’s how it works.
- First of all, open the Project Zomboid online map.
- Select Map Coordinates.
- Select Lock Cords, then select the exact location of where you want your spawn point to be. A green marker should appear on the map.
- Copy the coordinates.
- Next, open your in-game server settings.
- Open Spawn Regions.
- Under the SpawnPoint input window, change the "0,0,0" value to your coordinates. For example, if your coordinates are "9635x8781", the value should be "9635,8781,0."
Keep in mind that the “0” at the end refers to the height of where your character will spawn. Zero or 0 means ground level, while 1 indicates second-floor height, and so on. It’s best to only tamper with it if you plan to spawn on a specific floor of a house or building.
How to Teleport to Your Friend in Project Zomboid
There is another alternative and easier way to start the game with your friend in Project Zomboid. Other than using the online map, you can teleport to your friend in just a few clicks.
To teleport, hit the Esc key, select your friend’s name on the player list, and select “teleport to me.” You can also click “teleport” to teleport to them instead.
And that’s all there is to it! Whichever method you choose, we hope that you are be able to reunite with your friends quickly. While you’re here, ensure that you’re prepared for the terrifying Helicopter Event and level up your metalworking skills to increase your chances of survival.
