When will Stalker 2 be released for the PlayStation 5? After numerous delays over the past five years, Stalker 2 is set to release on Xbox and PC on November 20, 2024.
According to a leaked document from 2021, it seems the PS5 version will be released a few months after due to exclusivity.
Stalker 2 PS5 Release Date - Everything We Know
Stalker 2 could arrive on PS5 as early as February 23, 2025, according to a leaked document from 2021 obtained by The Verge, suggesting Xbox’s exclusivity is only for three months. However, it’s unlikely we’ll see a PS5 version that soon.
Firstly, the exclusivity window may have been extended. More likely, GSC Game World will prioritise improving and patching the Xbox and PC versions after launch, directing their focus there. Of course, their exclusivity agreement may prevent them from working on a PS5 version until the agreement fully expires - a common clause in such contracts.
Ultimately, we won’t know for sure until a PS5 version is officially announced. However, it’s more likely that a release, if it happens, will be in the latter half of 2025 is our estimation.
Stalker 2 on PlayStation 5 Pro and Features
Stalker 2 on PS5 is expected to retain all the core features of the game, while potentially adding support for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers - enhancements that have benefited many games transitioning to Sony’s platform because of its unique controller.
The PS5 version will likely also include support for the PS5 Pro, optimising performance and delivering even sharper visuals with improved framerates in 4K.
That’s everything we know so far about Stalker 2 on PS5 - its potential release window and what GSC Game World might be adding for it. In the meantime, you will be able to check it out on Xbox and PC when it releases, where it’s also available via Game Pass if you can’t wait to play.
