The upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4, exclusive to PS3, will bring about the end of the Solid Snake saga but Konami’s Ryan Payton stresses MGS doesn’t stop there.
Any new stories in the franchise won’t feature the veteran Snake as they ”really do close up the story.” MGS4 is due this June 12th.
”I think there’s been some misconceptions that this is the last ‘Metal Gear’,” said Payton, adding, ”This is really just the last chapter of the saga of the Solid Snake story.”
When he was asked about whether Snake would return sometime in Kojima’s future for Metal Gear, Payton commented ”I think he is kind of nervous about it. You can’t continue from this step. You can’t start the next chapter. We really do close up the story.”
”So when you play Metal Gear Solid 4 and when you get to the end, I think you’re going to feel that ‘wow, this is a nice closure,’” he continued.
”All of the weird stuff that’s gone on in the past, it’s all coming to an end. All those weird questions…everything is answered.”
