Publisher Arc Games and Phoenix Point developer Snapshot Games have unveiled Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids as their upcoming family-friendly action-strategy game. A playable demo is going live during Steam Next Fest.
Blending third-person action and real-time strategy elements, the title’s cartoony, colorful world is a departure from the studio’s debut project, whose art style had a more grounded approach.

Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids focuses on the titular protagonist inventor and robo-cat duo, who use strategic thinking and brute force to fend off an alien invasion.
Doing so involves putting an entire arsenal of buildings, weapons, vehicles, and a variety of abilities to good use during large-scale battles.
Managing our base and assembling our army is just one part of the equation, as we’ll be able to personally deal with enemies, alternating between a strategic command view and a third-person perspective.
Set to support both co-op play and PvP modes at launch, Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids’ Steam Next Fest demo will be playable between February 24 and March 3.
It gives us a taste of “online and local campaign co-op and PvP multiplayer support, four Mission levels, two Challenge levels, two PvP maps, and plenty of weapons, mods, collectibles and base building options,” as the publisher notes in an emailed press release.
“At Snapshot Games, we recognize how much players really enjoy challenging real time strategy games but from our experience, we know that some players like a strategy game that’s easier to pick up and play, that’s a bit more action-packed and that’s fun to play with friends,” said Julian Gollop, Snapshot Games CEO.
“With Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids, we set out to create a dynamic and accessible action RTS experience that players can dive into together. We can’t wait for players to jump into the action, meet the game’s unique characters and enjoy the heroic adventures that await – starting with the demo in just a couple of days!”
Following the launch of its Steam Next Fest demo, Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids is aiming for a spring release on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, which will include day-one cross-platform support.
