An insane amount of muscle, shouting and KI blasts won’t be coming from Atari no more as Namco Bandai have got the Dragon Ball Z franchise rights back.
The agreement between Atari and Namco will run for five years beginning January, 2010. Raging Blast, Revenge of King Piccolo and Attack of the Saiyans now falls to publisher Namco.
This is a further sign that Atari is in major need of serious cash, having already downsized considerably and even surrendered their European publisher rights to Ghostbusters. Dragon Ball Z is a mega franchise of uber proportion, it just never stops going.
Upcoming games are Dragon Ball: Raging Blast for Xbox 360 and PS3, Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo for Wii, and Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans for DS – all for ‘09.
