Publisher Ubi has submitted a trademark filing for Shadowbane, but it’s not for MMO purposes but just a normal game it seems.
Shadowbane closed its servers this year after six years running. Ubi is staying quiet on the matter, but it looks like something’s coming.
The US trademark filing for Shadowbane was spotted by superannuation. Wolfpack Studios developed the MMO but was closed in 2006 after Ubisoft had acquired them two years earlier. Veterans went on to form Stray Bullet Games.
Ubi contracted them to stay with Shadowbane to maintain it. Stray Bullet could be working with them on a new Shadowbane game, which as the filing suggests, would be outside the MMO space. Have you ever played Shadowbane before it shut, videogamer?
