A corporate veteran of the giant Microsoft by 19 years, Shane Kim is stepping away by the end of 2009 as he retires. Kim has been VP of Microsoft Game Studios.
Most recently he’s been Corporate Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for the Interactive Entertainment Business. Yes a bigwig title for sure and we salute you sir.
Replacing Kim as VP of Microsoft Game Studios is current General Manager Phil Spencer, and they’ve also announced a new position starting at Interactive Entertainment Business.
It’s the position of a chief operating officer which will be helmed by Dennis Durkin, charged with ”driving the business to meet and beat business plans.” Under Shame Kim’s leadership the world was brought Halo, Gears of War, and Fable, notes IGN.
We shall miss plastering your face all over our Internet when the time comes Mr Kim.
